Thoughts on Bakersfield's, CA Boy Victor Sanz by others!!!
Bob Kingsley once said he was probably one of the best indies he'd ever heard, and if you ever have the opportunity to hear some of his music, you'll soon find out why. He's good. Really good.
Noted Country music historian and critic Robert K. Oermann said in Music Row Magazine, "It’s a power ballad that starts slowly, but builds to a deliciously melodic chorus. Eminently playable."
Jeffrey Steele, recording artist and 2003 Nashville Songwriters Association International Songwriter of the Year Award, who co-wrote the song, said, "I think Victor is a really great new talent. He did a wonderful job with ‘Love Won’t Let Me.’ It is a very rangy song and he pulled it off well. I am looking forward to hearing great things from him!"
"I've been following Victor's career for many years. He's an extremely talented artist and I'm very excited to be working with him," said Scott Hacker, president of WCI Records. "With strong production and writing, the sky’s the limit for this one."
Lora Keaton from Columbus, Ohio was having great fun at the Chevy “All Access Music Tour” Stage. She had just met Country Music newcomer Victor Sanz and was ecstatic to get his autograph and picture taken with him. “He called me sweetheart.” Keaton said. “He’s so cute.”
Victor Sanz’s Hey Country(WCI) includes a good cover of “Hello Walls,” but is more notable for Sanz’s striking and consistent vocals on almost every selection. The first tune penned by Jim Lauderdale and Clay Blaker helps launch things strongly, with Sanz never turning maudlin or weary while deftly doing “It’s Only Cause Your Lonely.” Other worthy numbers include “I See A Woman,” “Love Won’t Let Me” and the title track, and a capable band pushes, drives and sometimes even challenges Sanz but never overwhelms or clashes with him. Producer Billy Yates got consistency and high quality from Sanz on Hey Country, the type of unflagging effort that isn’t always heard on releases from bigger labels. (Nashville City Paper)
